You know. The right hand.
One may think it's good to be someone's right hand. It's altruistic. Cool, even. Selfless. Kind. It's all about generosity, really. Helping the other. To serve. To be a good human being. It feels nice to be there for your fellow comrade, doesn't it? It's noble. It almost feels like it's meant to be. You become a better person. You are now a good guy. Reliable.
When you assist a living soul, you shift your focus from yourself to the other. You are letting all that weight go. You're giving up your protagonism to somebody else's. And it can even benefit your status. Your social status, I mean. It gets elevated. Being the KING's right hand. That's a nice role, isn't it? If you can't be the boss, at least your are the second leading man. The BOSS's right hand. That's imposing, isn't it? Something to be achieved.
Well. Not exactly..
The problem with being the right hand is that you are the one more often used. And so in spite of being the strongest and most dependable, you're the one that gets exposed to wounds the most. You're the least protected. The one bearing all the damage. The first in the line. The first to be sacrificed. The one trusted in the battlefield. You are leading the way, but also closer to the enemy.
If you are left handed, then forget about all this bullshit I just said.
And if you are ambidextruous, well ... just fuck off then, you lucky bastard.
